About Delavan

Andes Candies, LLC was founded in Chicago in 1921 producing a variety of boxed chocolates.  In 1950, the Crème de Menthe candy piece was added to the Andes’ product line. Although there have been ongoing innovations and changes with the introduction of new products and packages, Crème de Menthe Thins remains the flagship of the Andes product line.

In 1971, a modern, automated plant was built in Delavan, Wisconsin.  The present facility is approximately 161,000 square feet.  In 2000, Tootsie Roll Industries acquired Andes Candies offering more opportunities for growth and modernization. Andes now employs over 150 individuals, whose longevity, dedication and hard work have been a primary contribution to the Company’s continued success.

I have been with Andes Candies for 20 years, and my mother before me was an employee for 33 years before retiring. I began as a candy inspector, and through continuous training, and professional development opportunities I have had the benefit of working in numerous positions within the company, most recently as a Supervisor. I enjoy my job in part because of my amazing team! I work with fun, hardworking individuals that have become like family.
